It can take years to get to a point where you can quit your day job. Like anything though most won't reach that point. Well at least to get to million subscribers. Some switch over to Twich where they can get paid subscribers.

Youtube has only been around a few years. Vloggers are getting better and better as time goes on. I think when most of these trucker vloggers started, they clowned too much on youtube because it was new and fun not taking it serious. This turned a lot of potential trucker/viewers off. I tried to put up good material on my channel, started off targeting new drivers like most vloggers do nowadays lol as most veteran drive don't want to see stuff they do every day anyway.

Interesting things is my channel is getting a lot of retired truckers and a lot of office type cubicle people who are fascinated by the lifestyle I live. I have some kids who have parent(s) who drive and plenty of chicks who are interested in the life as well.

What is driving all this interest is people are unplugging from their satellite and cable TV and using alternative sources for their entertainment. Youtube allows us to monetize our videos and get paid just like your old TV content provider used commercials to bring your your favorite shows for 'free' and the actors are being paid in the millions.

What is interesting is the amount of hate a youtuber has to endure for monetizing their content. I believe it must be mostly jealousy. I estimate if things continue growing like they do on my channel may produce over $1 million in the next 30 years. So hate away haters LOL

I could only get through the smoke cloud intro where he blows smoke and stays silent to enhance his "cool" factor. *rolleyes*
Yeah, it's so impressive to be able to blow smoke out of your mouth. Is that considered a talent? You put something to your mouth, inhale, then exhale. Sooooo mesmerizing! Maybe he's quitting trucking so he can become a professional smoke blower...somewhat like a recruiter.

I wish I had a tinfoil hat franchise...I could be a sponsor for the whole forum with some of the profits just from member sales.

I never could get into that guy. I watch lil dawg on occasion to begin with but I can't get into him much either. Supertrucker Dan has been very informative and like watching him to gain a little knowledge when I was considering becoming an owner op and he also runs flatbed so that is helpful. I just stumbled upon @scottied67 and will check him out. I to have started a channel with no videos up yet and had planned on just documenting the process I went thru to get to owner op including clips I have saved over the years from the last 19 years in the industry.

Like it or not there is a whole generation of people who don't even watch traditional t.v. Heck we only have cable during football season, and that and we are gen x'ers. The generations after us really drive the youtube sensations. My wife reads and when I am in the mood to "watch" something it is off to one of the internet sites or services. Somewhat the same with my kids. My daughter is to busy with college and my son is a big researcher and I can't remember the last time he sat in front of an actual t.v.

Like it or not, it is a modern form of entertainment. To boot there is actually some very informative stuff as well.
