I'm discovering the reverse function on these Auto Petes is quite a handful ... it's
either dead stop or give it gas and launch and lurch like a beast ..,. There's no gentle way to
back up that I can see .... the more turned you
are the worse it gets ..., tight truck stops are
    an accident waiting to happen

My Cascadia's creep mode by putting the truck in reverse, or drive, and lightly tapping the accelerator. And, I *think* it goes into creep automatically once you get to certain speed slowing down and not tapping the accelerator.

Additionally, you can use creep mode in the first 5 gears. In 5th it will creep along at 5 mph.

Petes might not have creep mode. I don't know. My truck has a Detroit with Freightliner's own DT12 (12 speed auto) tranny.

So can some of you Poly guys tell me how long after you took your physical and drug screen before you got the call for orientation?

When I applied there, after the drug test results came back they called and set up a date.

Now that I think about it, it probably was about a week or two after i did the drug test and interview that they called. I told them that I needed to give a two weeks notice so she told me what orientation would work and to call her back closer to that time to get my flight schedule for orientation.

Good thing is that I've never heard of someone passing the physical and doing the interview and not getting hired. Basically you're hired when they have you come for the interview pending the physical. Also don't sweat the road test. It's like a 5 mile ride with another driver. Sometimes those drivers try to act like it's serious but it's not. I've seen some really bad drivers still pass. One guy didn't know how to shift whatsoever and I tried helping him but there's noway I was going to go out on the road with him even for 5 miles. After a couple days of practice on the yard he eventually did good enough on the road test and still got hired.

5 miles is the new hire road test, the existing driver yearly road test is down the frontage road to the 2nd red light, left under the toll road, then the frontage road back and around to the plant...that is unless King Hyatt changed things.
