This place sucks. K-PAC in Wilmington, CA. Right in the same area as the Long Beach Port. Very narrow streets. Doesn't appear to be exactly the best neighborhood to be in after dark. Even if parking was allowed on the street (which you have to do while you wait for them to call you with a door); I wouldn't park here overnight. I'm currently parked in a little cubby hole under CA-1.

60% of the time it works every time....

But in all seriousness were required to get washout and required to get scaled. If either of those things are out of Route I send in a request to get my mileage for the out of Route. Unless it's like five miles or something real small.

A current example of this is I delivered in New Orleans and need a washout I washed out in Hammond at the Blue Beacon that's out a route for me since I'm going to Carthage Mississippi. Not by much but I'm going to be putting in a
route line change from New Orleans to Hammond for the washout and then Hammond to Carthage which will make the route a little bit closer to practical.

The Blue Beacon in Jackson Mississippi would have been out of route as well.

You can best believe if I deliver in Chicago and I don't have a pre-plan I'm driving to Gary where the Blue Beacon is because I know I can find parking there were with all the truck stops and I'm going to get it added to my route line on the next load if the load happens to go in the opposite direction like Joslin or something.

Because in Chicago really is a coin flip if you don't have a pre-planyou could go to Rockford Joslin or down into Indiana to the Tyson down there or up into Wisconsin. Sometimes out of Chicago itself.

Now to be clear I'm not doing something like getting emptied in Ochelata Oklahoma and then with no pre-planned driving down to Oklahoma City for the Blue Beacon with hopes of getting loaded out of Rogers and changing my route line...lol.. I'm just saying if they haven't given me a pre-planned and I have to guess which direction I'm going to be headed I'd rather be headed to or at a Blue Beacon or washout because I have a better chance of them paying for my guess if it's wrong.

I'll be heading to the A1 Truck Wash on Valley Blvd on Fontana. They are open 24hrs, we have an account there, and I can usually find a place to park in that general area. I could go to the Blue Beacon in LA, but what's the point if I ain't parking there.

On a side note, K-PAC lumper fee is actually reasonable. $35. But you do have to pay first. The docks ain't that bad, but someone new or not paying attention could screw it up. I got lucky and got the door on the very end where I had plenty of room in fron to practically straight line back.

Pick up load at drop yard. Load came in from1000 miles away. Hook and weigh for California, 35440 on tandems already in Cali hole. Send freeform message, lol they say go get it re-worked, duh. I say 'do you want me to go back to shipper over 1000 miles away?' lol "sorry, thought you were at shipper".

Anyway waiting to see what they want to do........

Hopefully they charge something back on the driver that dropped it like that. No excuse for not making sure the weights are correct. Especially for California. That was just pure I don't give a ####.

Actually managed to squeeze into a spot at the Ontario Petro. Wasn't easy and extremely tight, but got into the spot. The driver across from the space was nice enough to spot me on the blind side. He said he watched and helped 3 others who just couldn't do it and gave up.

Machocylone, yes there is no excuse. I just picked up a load from that same shipper and the Loves is 3.5 miles away from that shipper with a Cat scale. To top all that off, the shipper has a scale as well. So the driver should have known they were overweight even before sending their Depart Shipper macro.
