I've been on elogs for years. Every company before this one had their system set up to automatically transmit your logs after you approved them as accurate and correct. This company does not. And...they are saying that logs MUST be sent in daily per DOT regs. I know in the old days on paper, you had 13 days to send your paper logs to the company (or drop them at their office). I have done several searches, but have yet to come up with any regulation that says I have any different time constraints on getting my elogs to the office like this place claims. Does anyone know of any regulation pertaining to elogs delivery that is different than paper?
When to approve and send elogs

I was always told to approve daily. I do know that if I don't approve them within a week I get a notice on my qualcomm screen that I need to approve my logs
KANSAS TRANSIT, CrappieJunkie and bzinger Thank this. -
Should do it at end of every day. You get audited at a scale, you can get busted for having unapproved days prior to the current day.

But to me, hitting Approve is the same as scanning in your old paper logs once a week. I would also like to see a regulation requiring log approval sooner than 13 days. -
You approve it daily when you close out the day on the log, this has not changed and won't.

Aobr is actually 13 days to approve the log. Here is the link. eCFR — Code of Federal Regulations
It's under 395.15(h).
As for eld's it's "immediately after the final required entry is made" for that 24 hour period.
Same link as above, but part 395.30(b)(2)bzinger and scottied67 Thank this. -
The JJ Keller ELD has a function for sending in approved logs, but no reminders to do it. In the DOT officer read only function there is no way for him to determine whether or not it has been done, short of calling the carrier.
