Also if you have a load going into Southern California Check road conditions, i15 was closed at the 215 split due to Ventura burning down earlier. Santa Ana winds are supposed to be strong all week so expect more of it.

I'm on eld's and I can move up to 2 miles and 20mph and stay on off duty depends on how company sets it up.I also can go 1.5 hours on personal conveyance.

Hey sorry I blended my information. It's closed at the I-5/210. 210 is closed there due to visibility.

Division of Traffic Operations - Road Information - California Highway Information

The 15 is closed 2 miles south of the 215 split due to a vehicle fire.

@Mark Kling was reporting that come Dec 18 all ELD's will have to be reprogrammed to no more that 5 miles per hour to remain Off Duty-- what we call "creeping" around the customer for example to not lose our accumulated time toward our 10 hour breaks. Not sure the distances limits in the ELD Mandate parameters but suffice it to say the ELD rules if they do change from what we can do now is going to really put a damper on our ability to get miles since we will be wasting even more time at customers say your 14 runs out and you've got 5 hours in the bag for a 10 hour break but must creep off the property and it accidently trips over to drive line, boom 15 hours down before next load see.

The ELD mandate puts you on the drive line as soon as you put it in gear and it doesn't.

Basically all the same thresholds that were in place before are still in place. But once you cross the threshold, the drive line reverts to the time you first put it in gear.

But, stop in less than 5 minutes and go back off duty, you will stay off duty. But if you're on the drive line when you cross the 5 minute threshold, you're locked in from the point you first went in gear.
