    its 24 hours + 10 so you go forward to 2:21 the next day + 10 hrs : gets you to 00:21 am that's your 34

    Just to clarify what he's talking about. It makes it more hilarious. Since I've never had kids, I don't get the new ways of teaching. The closest thing to this type of thinking for me is when you start to understand the different number systems: hex, octal, binary, and decimal.

    Here is how I calculate 34's.

    Figure out when a 10 hour break would end, then add one calendar day.

    So, starting your downtime on 10 April @ 1421 hours means you would end a 10 hour break on 11 April @ 0021, and if you take a 34, it will end one full day later, on 12 April @ 0021.
