My last carrier would not let us PC even bobtail if were were on negative time. We were paper logs though so what I would do on the home-run is add about 100 miles to my mileage trip report and bobtail home but leave my location on the paper logs back at the yard which was about 48 miles away, take my home days and return making it all look like I never left the yard and the miles matched up on my odo pretty close. If I needed I just adjusted the miles into my next trip no big deal.

So who here doesen't use an actual GPS Unit and instead uses an app on a tablet or something? Debating going that route instead of a full unit now that I have my Overdryve 7 mostly sold.

I may have asked this earlier...

@Kamkor No standalone GPS unit for me. CoPilot app only. Ran it on an Android tablet and when the tablet bit the dust, I replaced it with a Phablet and still running CoPilot on it.

Working well for you? I'm really debating grabbing a semi-cheap tablet and doing the app with a hot spot over the Garmin 780 that comes out this month. Or maybe throwing the app on one of my old phones to test with it.

I would highly recommend putting it on an old phone to try it out. Then, if you are comfortable with it, buy a tablet and load the app and not miss a beat. With CoPilot, you will only need any data use for the initial install and to check for map updates from time to time. If you want Traffic info, you would need data all of the time, but I don't use that option.

I haven't update my app but several people don't like the latest version.

By the way, should you go with CoPilot, get the one-time fee (I understand it is currently on sale). Don't bother with the monthly plan.

Yeah I saw that its on sale for the full one. I loaded it already on my old Moto G5+ with the 14 day trial, looks pretty good. Will have to get use to it, but I'm already liking the route modification ability with just a tap, which was something I missed with Garmin.

    Okay how about this...

How about instead of us fixing trailers that are screwed up we do drop and hooks we have road service come instead of leaving with it?

Maybe after JCT gets hit with several thousand dollars worth of road service for their trailers maybe then they'll get the hint that they should be focusing on maintenance...

    Maybe...

And to the driver who dropped 7131 at JBS in Hyrum Utah you need to go get a new DOT physical to have your ears checked. There's an audible air leak at the tire pressure system from chafed Airlines loud enough to be heard from the hood of my truck. And it's in the lines between the system in the tires so it can't be shut off via the valve and it's constantly just lowering tire pressure.

I won't fault you for the marker light being out because that could happen the moment power is applied since it's a regular filament not an LED.

I dunno, if everyone who was fed up with it started not hooking to the load at a drop and hook unitl road service fixed it, not only would it cost a lot more than dragging it somewhere, it would jeopardize OTD on some major accounts. Start affecting those OTD bonuses the company gets...

I've also been seeing trailers at Tyson and Walmart red tagged by the shippers to not load due to maintenance, flat tires, no fuel, reefer not staying on more and more. I mean there eventually has to be a breaking point.

So that test didn't last long. For some reason the ETA was exactly an hour off. The time remaining was right so it was as if CoPilot thought I was in a different time zone. So I started fiddling with my time zone and clock since the phone has no service it can't get time updates from the network. Rebooted, launched CoPilot and no more trial, said it was expired and had to buy.
