And....my city horn just stopped working. The fuse for the horn is still good. At least the fuse behind the glove box. Still have to check if there is a horn fuse in the box under the hood.

Edit: And there is no other fuse for the horn that I know of. The fuse box under the hood is all for trailer and ECM stuff. Maybe there is a relay, but I don't know. And relays don't usually go bad. Not that they can't, but I suspect it's the horn itself.

Going to the NW is good if your low on your 70. Otherwise it is generally a waste of time because they like to multi-stop load you and to do it efficiently, you'd need to do the 8 hour splits at each loading. Adds a ton of down time which is good if you are in the single digits available on the 70. If you have 30 or more hours it means a short pay that week and the couple days you lost trying to get loaded is a couple days you'll have to forfeit from hometime to stay square with the finances.

I rarely had multi stop loading in the NW. And if I did, it was only 2 stops. Most of the time I had to drop and hook at Tyson in Pasco. The apple loads I got were usually (at least for me) one stop pickups.

Not that I know of. I don't see them doing that though. I think are trying to understand why so many drivers are turning down loads to the NW. Even during the summer months. I think it's just a case of people are scared of the mountains (or Cabbage Hill) for some reason. Or maybe the weather? But that wouldn't explain the summer refusals.

Could be parking issues. I run there quite a bit and parking around the I 5 corridor is awful.

Which is why you have to take that into account. I would always time it so I was parked about 1 - 3 hours from final and roll in about an hour before my appt. Unload, go pickup, and could usually could continue rolling to park anywhere between (depending where I delivered and made pickup) Pendleton, Or to just the east side of Boise, Id at the Boise Stage Stop.

But is planning and alot of drivers don't do that anymore. It's slowly becoming a lost art as more and more drivers just play it by ear.

I always plan out where im going to stop..but then adjust accordingly throughout the day as needed...many don't even have back up locations to park at in case of delays...even worst out west in winter time..

It's fuel ... Your business model requires extreme attention to fuel cost. NW equals high fuel price and low fuel mileage. Why go there when you can make the same revenue, with much lower costs, running the 40.
