Thing is, if you are issued a new lock set when you start, they hold the price of a new set, but when you quit(and you will), they only give you back the price of a used set...so they end up keeping some of your money no matter what....then, many of the terminals will backcharge some or all of the cost of cleaning your truck even if you scrub you ### off getting it as clean as humanly possible. They want a used truck interior to look like it did new, if it doesn't, they charge you.

    No.

As long as you document why you need to buy more, Crete/Shaffer will pay for you to replace them.

On your load sheet tell them the trailer number they were left in, and the load number you were hauling at the time. Then include the receipt for the load locks. They have always reimbursed me.

Makes me wonder what else they are hiding... “lack of miles”?
    “other fishy charges”?

Where would you advise a driver to go? I have never experienced charges (to a driver) in 16 years!!!

Many companies to choose from, especially nowadays...I worked there almost 10 years and they were on a steady downhill slide while I was there. There is a reason they have to keep raising the pay rate, they have to attract replacement drivers for the ones that get sick of their b.s. and leave.

I went to Poly for a couple years, pay was good, but the equipment broke down too often, went to Magnum for 18 months...wasn't my cup of tea...I just didn't seem to fit in with them, Big G for 6 months and almost went bankrupt...In October I moved to Moore Freight Service(glass hauling on open deck), and for the most part, I love it here. Totally different atmosphere here, nothing like the other places

It's a deposit. If you return their property to them when you leave the company, you get it back. That's for required equipment. For optional equipment, like good high quality fridges, you won't be reimbursed, but you can take it with you when you leave.
