That's what she said JBS is known for doing that.
I got burned in Utah at JBS for not being as meticulous. Never again!

So I'm just passing along some info from my conversation with the logs department the other day...
If you are on the road, and your Omnitracs goes down, and the repair will require the replacement of the device, you're better off trying to get to the terminal, or to a location where JCT has sent some of their devices. (Probably major hub areas like Salt Lake, San Bernardino, Phoenix..etc..)
Due to the ELD regulation, they cant "Add" devices to the fleet, they can only "replace" with what they have. Thats why we are running kind of hybrid mode, EORBD on ELDs because JCT is grandfathered.
If you get a "NEW" device, you'e going to be on a full blown ELD, and you cant go back. Some of the limitations of being on an ELD (Which we all will be on Dec 2019...) are:
1. 5MPH drive line cut on instead of 25 mph. (Regulation, not JCT set).
2. That cut on will track your driving time to the SECOND, with no minimum time (Bye Bye 4 min then off duty), so if you're 9:59:50 on a 10 hour break, and you take off over 5 mph 10 second early, then stop 10 seconds later....you just blew your entire break, you now have SB/OFFD 9:59:50 and 10 seconds of drive line time...which leads me to...
3. They cant fix drive line on ELD, once its in, its in.
She said that they are working on giving us access to "Yard move" time to not trigger drive line over 5mph when at like shippers and stuff, but that still puts you on duty.
If you noticed an increase of drivers creeping along in parking lots, thats why. The 5 mph cut off on ELDs.
I personally think the regulation on 5mph is stupid, should have left it at 25, or hell, even 15, but what do I know, i'm just a driver....
Just a heads up.Jarhed1964, scottied67 and MachoCyclone Thank this. -
I don't ever get a full 10hr before the appt time. I get about 3-6hrs then another 3 at the dock. Off duty drive to truck stop and get another 5-7 hours before I have to leave. -
Kamkor Thanks this.

Plus seeing as I could see my drive time down to the second when I look in my actual daily logs and the 21 seconds of drive time that got added to me when I first got it... -
I am attempting to help a tenant who is a truck driver. He needs assistance with Qualcomm 19. He became an owner operator and is not understanding this operation. I tried qoogling and came up with nothing is there someone to contact etc that could provide assistance. The company he leased with has nothing available.
This is all new to me...so any assistance where he could take a class etc would be helpful. I tied a Qualcomm phone number however this go me no where.

Thanks....finally a number. Safe travels on the road. You truckers are as important as first responders. Without you people we could not exist.
radioshark Thanks this. -
Is it just me or people running into the newer carriers that don't want to start on their first attempt or even second or third attempt?
I swear this is like my 5th one recently. And it's one of the brand new ones. -
So that's not been my problem. That's the one problem I haven't had.. lolKamkor Thanks this.
