Parking is a necessary tool like anything else. Knowing I have a space when I get there with 20 minutes left on my log is huge. My company pays, why not take advantage of it?

As an owner operator parking charges should be included in your rate.

Who the hell pays to park every night? 2-3 times a month for me, is about it and only to optimize my productivity and/or to make the appointment happen and to prevent having to park stupid, and I'm a liberal paid parking user.

The industry changes every year. New HOS rules, new CARB engine requirements, higher fuel standards (costs), rapidly rising new truck costs (outpacing inflation), exponentially rising toll rates, higher lumper fees (although perhaps at few places), more traffic delays, more jammed truck stops, more communities forbidding truck parking, etc, etc. But the industry for the most part adapts with higher rates and adjusted time expectations, except for a few who want to remain living in the past. Reserved parking costs is where they put their foot down? WTF?

    Long FLD Thanks this.
