Your assigned truck will have what it has and you'll adjust while improving to your specific needs. Don't expect much in your first truck. Most likely you'll get what's available at the start. The account I was on had a 90 day period for you to get moving and start to prove yourself. They will re-evaluate you after that. Focus on learning the job and not having all the creature comforts. Its a tougher job than you imagine, as we all learn.
Schneider a good first choice for newbie?

Schneider isn’t a bad place to start your new trucking career, if you’re only pulling dry vans. I’m unsure if their tanker training is as efficient as the aforementioned dry van, but yes. I’d say Schneider isn’t a bad place to start.
One week of e-log and trip planning training. One week of city driving. One week of OTR training. It’s a three week deal, and then you’re on your own.
A few years ago, their pay was 34 cents per mile, I’m unsure of what their pay is today. Also, get your hazmat, because if you haul any hazmat with Schneider they give you an extra 2 cents per mile (if I remember correctly).
My friend had a gig where he was out 7 days, home 2. The only downside is that Schneider is forced dispatch, and the only way you’re getting home is if they have a load to send you home. They don’t much believe in sending you home (even if it’s 60 miles away) with an empty trailer or a bobtail.
Of course, things may have changed within the last three years, but that’s what I remember when my friend was going through their program. -
Don’t know much about the company side. I was only a company driver for couple of months.

Not to sure on the part time how it works. But on a dedicated account you're usually home every weekend for your 34 and when I need extra time off i just give my dbl a minimum 2 weeks notice the days I need off, so they definitely work with you when it comes to home time. When it comes to equipment, my first 9 months was in a crappy KW T680 10spd with no power inverter, just 12 volt outlets, so I could only charge my phone and plug a cooler in. They just put me in a 2020 Cascadia with 0 miles and it has a apu and fridge and power inverter, but down fall I had to go automated lol.

If you still have questions about Schneider I'll be happy to answer them. I'm currently a driver instructor for them

I have questions! I’m located in the Philadelphia area and I’m fresh out of school I need an honest answer from someone who’s works there I know recruiters tell you what you want to hear $70k a year etc.. but realistically what can I expect to earn fresh out of school in the philly area taking on this dedicated target account?
