You have to be careful if you have those extensions installed on your truck/trailer. This is 2nd time I've had this happen. Valve extension got stuck somehow and was pressing on inside of valve stem releasing air. Thankfully I carry glad hand air line so I took off extension and pumped up tire.

happened twice. Ones crossfire let air out .
PE_T Thanks this. -
I thought it was just me. I take a squirt bottle of soapy water now and check for leaking anytime I disturb them.

The extensions also need a support pressed into the out wheel hole to support it, or the force from spinning cracks the original valve stem.
mhyn Thanks this. -

(do not forget too, that many times, many "accessory parts are made in China or some other country where they just do not use the same metals as the USA or are of course, sub-standard quality...you get what you pay for)
we actually had the cheap plastic caps like on many cars, theis avoided such a problem
now too, many cars these days have tire pressure monitor systems...
it is recommended to NOT put on any extensions other than factory as the problem i mentioned DOES happen more often on our cars. -
Anymore a lot of stuff made in the US is substandard. Or some jackoff puts the wrong part in the box.
