Running with JCT, Part Deux

That's how I found him. A few of his Masterlock videos showed up in my Youtube feed.

Also, I think Abloy is using a new core in their locks. I picked up at the yard the other day and I could have swore the key was round before. Not any more. I've gotten a replacement lock from the yard in years. This is the shape of the new key.

 

My key from my now 4 year old lock.. So yeah they changed. Maybe the new protec?

 

Maybe. And that's how I remember the key looking from my first lock. But that got lost about a year ago now.

 

I thought about trying to find a locksmith that can put in a new core and clean the lock up since I only have one key and JCT doesn't have the other one since I had to take it. (Lost it).

I just know the moment that I do that I'll lose the lock the next day....

 

The new locks comes with 3 keys. You get 2 and JCT keeps one on file. Not sure how that helps you though if you not at the yard.

 

Maybe next time I'm there I'll just trade in my old lock...

 

I believe a plasma cutter would go through our locks like soft butter.

 

Now that I think about it. I'm tempted to get one and watch the hilarity of people trying to get it off. Or to see if it dents the door while going down the road.

It takes less than that when I was at the shop a while back they had a lock that had no key and I asked one of the guys to cut it see how long it would take with a cutting wheel and it went through it and about 15 seconds.. The shank at least.

Since it's a ball bearing lock you'd have to cut both shanks to get it off.

Of course it also made a ton of noise and Sparks so... Very noticeable...
