That cpm is on the really low side, I made that starting out years ago you’d have to run your tail off to make a decent check

CPM does not mean anything without miles behind it. How many miles a week are they offering you?Last edited: Dec 24, 2019

Plus I was thinking to myself are they actual miles, or household goods miles? It's not good either way, but it's almost criminal if they are household goods miles.Texas_hwy_287 and Upinsmoke Thank this.

May Trucking was good to me when I was there. At times I was doing almost 3500 miles a week, with a 60mph truck, and on recaps. It all depends on your Dispatcher and terminal.
Just show you can run, and run and run. But dont be afraid to cry uncle for a 34hr break to get the rest your body needs so you dont kill anyone and yourself.Eggroll'n Trucker, Upinsmoke and Need4Speed Thank this. -

Kind of. A clean MVR is still important though. In my experience with Roehl, Jrayl, and Swift; they all ask for any Moving violations within the last three years. I had a 15+ MPH speeding ticket in 2016.. but that's been over three years ago now, so nobody cares about it.
However, I would Avoid Roehl unless you have no place else to go. since you have no experience you will be asked to sign a contract by the company.. its anywhere between $3,000 to $7,000; depending on if you have a CDL already or not. The contract applies whenever you quit or are terminated (with or without cause) before you reach 120,000 solo miles. So have a plan on how to deal with the contract in case you and Roehl separate for some reason.Last edited: Dec 24, 2019

May guarantees they’ll pay you for at least 90% of the miles you drive. That’s better than a lot of the companies, but still sucks.
That’s my biggest pet peeve (and I have a LOT, lol) with companies that pay by the mile. They may have needed to do draw some sort of line in the sand before GPS technology, but that crap doesn’t fly now.
Every carrier out there has exactly how many miles you drive every day. It’s right there on the ELD. They have no excuse for not paying for every mile driven.
Bottom line, it’s just another scum bag tactic to keep from paying the driver the money they earn.
Merry Christmas! Here’s to hoping at least a hand full of Kentuckians make their way through Arkansas this holiday season!Eggroll'n Trucker, Upinsmoke, LtlAnonymous and 2 others Thank this.
