KW shore power outlet on the drivers door use?

Consult your owners manual. Shore power should connect all of your bunk A/C outlets directly to 110v . Is the truck factory wired for an inverter?

Block/Coolant and fuel heaters are usually labeled and have a different connection point from ones labeled shore power.

 

I don't drive a KW but if it say Shore Power, you plug and extension cord into it and it should provide power to truck to run lights and TV or fridge. I had that on a freightliner and the truck had an inveter that when you plugged in shore power it would power all the plugs in the truck and it even charged the truck batteries at the same time. So you run sleeper heater that burned diesel 27/7 and watch TV and run the fridge. Plus anything on the 12v plugs

 

What @Goodysnap said, and pay attention to the guage of wire in any extension cord to it, also circuit supplying power, and integrity of connection.

It won’t. Driving hours will stay the same, the extra 3 hours are for rigorous vehicle inspections - basically a daily DOT blitz.
