Ah, yes, the 10-hour timer on opti-idle.
I have it for my heat, but not for my AC. I don't mind it for heat, so I have left it. If I had a timer on my A/C, that would be annoying.
Do you know if your bunk air filter has been changed recently? If it gets crapped up, it can impact idle time.
Other than that quick check, I agree with your outlined plan. It's their truck, and it's their problem. You proved in your last truck that you can keep idle % down, so the ball in their court, IMHO.

Well, I am preplanned on 3 loads. The 1st has to drop in SoCal by 1500 today out of the Phoenix yard...but, they had to make things complicated. 30 min before I got the pplans, I get a message from my A/M telling me to go to the Phoenix yard after I drop this load in Casa Grande and report to the office. After I asked what was up, and do I need to start packing my stuff (this all came about after I sent my Asst FM my latest reply about his idle time message), my AM said I wasn't in trouble, but I just had to see the office people...which usually means a piss test. So, now I'll have to wait until they come in after 7, go where ever they do the test, and then get back to the yard, pick up my load and have 6 or so hours to make it to SoCal to drop. If I don't make the 1st one on time, that screws the other 2 up (and I lose out on around 2800 miles thru next Weds.)

Wylie did that to a couple drivers when I was there...get a little pissey with them...go pee in a cup. One driver, just before I allegedly resigned, told me that he went 3 months in a row.Lonesome, Farmerbob1, mushroom1464 and 2 others Thank this. -
They might be making an exception for you but normally a random is just that, a random. Or they have a fresh new crop of man bun and skinny Jeans fresh out of school to put in the truck that you hate. You say they have no extra trucks? Your yard in Wilmer Tx has probably a 100 cream puffs in their yard.
