At my former company, when bonus time came around the dispatcher wanted a piece of the drivers bonus.

That right there shows they are not making much. Also look at the cars they drive...mostly old POSS.

Also they always wanted gifts. Cigarettes., lunch etc....

    bzinger Thanks this.

    You trying to be funny?

the driver is the one who makes more money than the office staff.

Usually the only one on commission, if it is run properly, is the sales staff who sells the company services.

    everyone else is hourly.

if a small company is where the owner makes more money than the driver, the owner is a cheap ********.

Pros and cons here. Dispatcher needs to deal with all the moronic mega drivers all day, but then gets to go home and sleep in his mom's basement every night. I have a hard enough time dealing with brokers, I couldn't handle dispatching.

Why would you think that I am trying to be funny? I don't see why it should intuitively be extremely obvious or common sense that the average truck driver makes more money than the average fleet manager. Most of the megas I have drove for required their fleet managers to have at least a bachelor's degree. That's four years of higher education. A truck driver only has to have a CDL. I don't see why it is not a fair question.

Wife Used To Dispatch for Celadon In NC.
She HAD TO Refrain From Speaking Her Mind When Drivers Were Whining About The Usual Stuff.

I had NO such Filter when it came to OTR Drivers whining.

Dispatchers are the people smoking winstons in 2022 driving a beater dodge neon with all that white smoke coming outta the pipe. They order at the drive through while picking at their sores/belly button, and laugh really loud in tight public places while on speaker phone.
