My company does drop and hook and first customer was not taking loads because they lost power day before from the storms or heat. So they had me drop that trailer at drop yard. I was supposed to get empty and pick another load, but no empty trailer at drop yard.
They had take a preloaded trailer to Walmart for drop and hook. I get to Walmart, to drop trailer and they don't have any empty trailers. I was going home for 2 days off. My dispatch said you can't bobtail home, see if Walmart can live unload. Walmart said no, you need appointment. My dispatch finally said bobtail home. Walmart had about 6 of our trailers loaded waiting to get empty. You would think they must be charging them for not unloading trailers but dispatch is like you can't just bobtail out of their. It's like the people setting up the contract for Walmart don't tell dispatch what they signed or setup.
Trailers left loaded killing small to mid size companies…

i didn’t realize how nice it was to work with Triple Crown and deliver and pickup loads in a 250 mile radius. If some place couldn’t unload in a reasonable time , or whatever , dispatchers would just have us bring it back to the yard and take another load somewhere else . they did have issues with empties , even all those years ago. Finding an empty on Friday was impossible . So the O/Os would grab an empty and hide it on Thursday so you had it available on Friday to take home for your Monday pickup .JolliRoger, Boondock, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
It is a little of everything. SCJOHNSON would rather pay for the storage bills then not have the freight. Not enough help at the warehouses. Products are not moving into the stores because consumers are not shopping. Even the TP companies are 5 loads a day off what they were 3 months ago. I believe it is called a recession

Hence the you know is starting to hit the fan. I may not know as much as all of you or some of you about the little tale talesigns that the dark cloud is almost upon us but there’s definitely some weird stuff going on. I do notice things. If literally hundreds upon hundreds them f trailers are sitting full, that means people have stopped buying. And it’s been sudden.
I think we could even skip past the R word right into the D word…depression. It’s ugly!JolliRoger, Boondock and wis bang Thank this. -
Guess that's part of what makes Welfare Express such a great outfit. -
These haven't moved in at least 3 months. All sitting empty. On the other end of the lot there's about 35-40 more that haven't moved in forever

The 'trailing' indicators won't slow down for a while and are usually thought to be signs of things getting better soon. -
The reason these trailers sit full is nobody wants to unload them. People make money off of YouTube channels now, not unloading trucks.
The economy has changed, that's about it.
