His new thread wont be as good without the drama.

Although I'm sure most of us wish him self-managed success, his continued micro-managed troubles no matter the carrier would be a far interesting read.

My hat is off to you grocery haulers, I don’t know how you deal with the random appointment times and free washes. Ive had 4 hard appointments so far in 2022. Those were all to meet cranes or forklifts at job sites. Everything else is a FCFS or I tell them when I will be there and the book an “appointment”, usually at the ports but it’s mostly a formality.

That’s how it is in the tanker business too. Hauling mostly petroleum products to oil distributors has pretty much increased my lifespan. They work banker hours, are always happy to see us, and generally great people. Not sure why I pulled boxes for so long.

When I left the second time I knew from past experience that they were going to charge me to clean the truck no matter what. So I made no effort to clean it at all.. I actually dumped a bag of fertilizer on the floor before i drove off the yard.. probably wouldn't recommend you do that...

OTOH maybe this is why they have never contacted me in an effort to get me back....

Deland is pretty laid back in regards to truck cleanliness. No matter how clean, they have a detailer come out and do a professional job on every truck anyway. The mechanic checking in any truck I am getting out of is usually impressed how clean I get it, since I clean it like I am trading in Lincoln, who wants it as clean as a new truck.

Well, I am officially no longer a Creaffer driver. Turned the truck in and hauled arse. I would like to say it was nice, but I dont like to lie.

No worries. About 3 weeks into the new gig there will be issues. More entertainment.

It won't be there long. The mechanic that checked me out said they had 7 drivers come in the other day picking up trucks. I guess they must have put in a bigger revolving door in recruiting so they can keep as many drivers coming in as quitting
