Random LTL Rants (all are welcomed)

Our yard was full of outbound freight when I broke my set Saturday morning. I’m guessing I’ll be running tonight.

 

Yeah I worked today like a sucker. Called one customer before I left the yard because if they weren’t there the freight would be in my way. Nobody answered.. left the freight on the dock. 3 pups of outbound loaded.

 

Seems like you all work days. I would have worked today if they called me for the AM runs. Didn’t want to screw up my day time sleep schedule working Monday night then being off Tuesday night then going back to nights Wednesday night. I’m happy to be at home drinking beer, kids burning me with sparklers, watching mortars, and whatever the neighbors blow up lol.

 

I was literally the only driver on today. 5.5 hours, 7 deliveries and 2 pickups.

 

Did you get paid for 8 hours?

 

Nope.

 

I’m still 9-9ish at cooper. Not going hungry here, but honestly it’s getting kinda boring. Nice thing is management makes other drivers do my beach work since I work outbound with management.

 

Got lost AF last night. Highway was closed and I followed multiple alternate detour routes that all led me to a ramp closed sign. I was hoping a cop would have pulled me over so I could have asked him for directions. I have not been that lost and turned around in a looonnnggg time. Ended up staying on some road that seemed like a truck route and was going the direction I needed to go that eventually got me back to the highway. This was off I43 south, just pulling my set around north Milwaukee neighborhoods lol.
