Ours are tied to our trucks. Some guys have company issued tablets, I use my phone. If you go home and forget to sign out and a mechanic moves your truck it will throw you on the drive. Stay signed in and hop in your car and it won’t do anything.
Only issue I’ve had with Samsara is a problem while split breaking. It won’t work unless your phone is set to automatically update the time. I never trusted that but reluctantly switched my setting. -

As far as the app maybe it didn’t do anything because I wasn’t attached to a truck.Lonesome and supersnackbar Thank this. -

Today was less of a PITA than yesterday. I got up dawn-ish, got hooked up to my trailer and eased out of town. Traffic wasn't bad, roads to Seattle were clear and dry, got to where WA-18 heads south, then the roads got interesting and the wind started blowing...at certain parts of the climb and decent of Snoqualmie there were times I wish I hadn't left the yard. Got thru it without any boo-boos, get past Ellensburg, and the roads weren't too bad. Start to climb up the big hill before the Columbia river bridge, things got a little snowey, but manageable. On the way down, just before the bridge it got icy...icy enough in the right lane that I moved to the left (snowey lane). At that last exit before you hit the bridge there was a jacked up 4x4 with a rack of snowmobiles on top of the bed...you could see where he hit the ice, slid across into the left hand concrete and then back right to the edge of the shoulder. One front wheel turned left, the other turned right. Made it thru that, across the bridge and climbing out of the gorge it was messy but manageable. Got all the way thru to Post Falls and fueled. Some places between Moses Lake and Spokane didn't look like they had gotten any snow. I get out of Post Falls and the ID roads were pretty good until I was going up Lookout, then they turned ####ty. The west bound downgrade off of Lookout was closed because of a multi-vehicle crash. There was a salt-shaker creaping down the hill so it musta been pretty slick. I got into MT, their roads were typical MT winter roads...some stretches were snowed over, others were clear and dry. Made it to Missoula and called it a night. So far, the KW is staying put right where we secured it.
