Dude! This thread is almost a year old!

Tell'em Cory! I love working for Taylor Express. They have ALWAYS compensated me fairly for wait times, and NEVER rushed me to get a load somewhere. These are good, caring employers. And Celadon.... Well, Taylor pretty much runs their own show aside from maintenance.
-
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond, i was contemplating just not bothering to fuel the fire but since the chipmunk over there chimes in on how great celadon is, I’ll just go ahead and answer one last time.
1. I got paid $0.38/mile according to my pay stubs.
2. I understand loads cancel but week after week with the same company?
3. The fuel card was the same from day 1 until the day i quit. That can’t be used as an excuse. But the major problem there was the fact that when you have a problem, you have to sit and wait until someone decides to go to work. (That’s a loss of miles and money for the driver, not that the company is crying)
4. The after hours number went to an after hour operator at Caledon. Yes, i called it and had to pretty much force them to pay for a hotel room. It was that or i was going to drive the truck back to hope mills and leave the trailer in Virginia.
5. There is a thing called an ELD which regulates how long you are allowed to drive. When you are sent a load that goes from Fayetteville, NC and needs to be in Taylorville, IL and you are working on recap, you would think the company would take some responsibility and just let the driver choose either to take the 34 hour reset or give the driver extra time for the load. It shouldn’t be placed on the driver if the load wasn’t properly planned.
6. You are correct. If the load is going to be late “due” to dispatch, nobody says a word. Now Let’s think about this, i get to taylorville, IL at 4:00pm cst, that’s 5est. By the time my load is rejected and i am told they will not unload/load, everyone in Taylor offices are gone. Should i call on Thursday and say hey i know tomorrow that i am going to be delayed at GM or AutoZone and will need to reschedule? No unfortunately, I’m this day and age, anything can happen and usually does. I couldn’t do anything different to get a load there faster if i am bound by traffic, HOS, or shipper delays. There have been numerous times my load was supposed to be ready by 5Pm at Purilator and not actually pick it up until midnight because it wasn’t ready or there was a problem with a trailer, etc.
Again, not the drivers fault but it’s the driver that gets penalized. Since my unfortunate dealings with Taylor, i have purchased my own truck, book my own loads, and make 10x more that i could have before.
Taylor Express taught me one thing, don’t ever let someone else dictate my paycheck. Those dispatchers don’t know what it’s like on the road, they sit in an office all day, go home to their family at night and could care a less about that driver stranded on the road away from his family.drivingmissdaisy, TruckDriver87, jimjam38 and 2 others Thank this. -
I’m adding to this thread in 2024…New Taylor Express out of Hope Mills NC will ruin your trucking career. They put minor incidents like bent fairings on your DAC and report it on your VOE. Companies don’t put that kind of stuff on DAC because all companies check DAC and you will not get hired on by anyone if they did! Most companies understand those incidents can happen and we would all be out of a job if that was the case. I have a perfect CDL with no accidents or points and Taylor express wants to ruin my career so I can’t work in trucking. They have mental health issues in management. Low cpm, low miles, keep you sitting, lie to you from day one, will tell you the opposite of the truth. They twist the truth to make it sound as bad as possible. “Bent fairings” are being reported as a UTurn accident by them on my DAC and VOE.

Seems to be the attitude these days that damaging equipment is no big deal because everyone does it.
TurkeyCreekJackJohnson, mitrucker, snowlauncher and 2 others Thank this. -
How long have you been working for them? Are you still there? -
Maybe it's just me, but that looks a bit more than minor.....
-
If you caused the damage to the equipment in a preventable situation, then it's only fair that the company has the right to report it. If you didn't cause the damage or it was somehow non-preventable, then you have every right to dispute the DAC and have it removed from record. What I would like to know is, did you do it, or not?
-
If you go back in this feed and read it from the beginning the person who responds to driver complaints about Taylor Express is the recruiter from Taylor Express & admits it!
Furthermore look up reviews about them on Google reviews because I’m not the first driver that they have ruined. They post NON DOT reportable minor incidents on a drivers DAC and also on their VOE which gets you blacklisted in trucking and literally NO company will touch you at that point! That means that even though my CDL is clean with no tickets or points this company still has the ability to ruin my trucking career which is not right and worth the effort for me to post this to warn other drivers who worked hard to get their CDL in order to change their life financially and have a prosperous future. Shame on you Taylor Express!!!Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.
