Talk about a lengthy flight delay... that's worse than flying Southwest

As does the Loves in Baldwin Florida…..still serving bone-in chicken! I was so happy when Bojangles finally moved into the DFW market. Really disappointed that they all have that no bone-in menu. I “think” the new Loves in Prescott Arkansas does the full menu as well.

Their grilled chicken sandwich is my goto at the Faux locations.

Idling won't be an issue for me, it's the fake - "we respect and appreciate our drivers" mantra they project, then decide to time all these changes so that it screws things up the most for the drivers. It isn't like we're on the verge of going bankrupt and they have to implement these changes ASAP. This place use to have a real family feel to it until they partnered with Wylie, now with all these changes, they have turned into the average MEGA (probably Daseke's intention all along)..but still spew the "we love our drivers" speech. The guy on the latest YouTube video who updated us on the implementation of the idle stuff came across with the amount of enthusiasm like he was telling us his favorite dog had died tragically...and repeatedly kept claiming that they were here to help and how they think the world of their drivers. He said it often enough the phrase "me thinks thou protest too much" came to mind.

Got to my delivery today...and he had to come out and look at what I had. He intends on taking this off on an open dock. Not sure he'll be successful on some of it. The chiller itself is 22' long and he has a standard pallet size forklift. Not sure he has the power to lift the chiller from the side, and no friggin way he's gonna get it from the end. This will be interesting. He kept asking if it was a drop (I think that's what he was asking, I don't speak spanish and his english isn't the best)

My next load is an elevator load out of Dallas on Friday going to SoCal, so I will most likely be visiting our Rancho yard next week.

All new Bojangles will be boneless…. Such a crappy move IMO. I also don’t like their chicken tenders but love the bone in…. So I’ll stick to the Cajun chicken biscuit if I go…

Bojangles makes no bones about its future

And you missed Snackbar's point, that this economy is none of his concern as a company driver. That's why people choose to become company drivers instead of owner operators, less reward but also less risk and steady paychecks.

Snackbar, does your company have a "guaranteed minimum" going on?

Whether it's a certain paycheck average per week, or maybe a certain amount of money per day, or a certain amount of miles per load/per week?

That way you can tell management if you're not getting your guaranteed minimum (in whatever metric they measure it), so that you can start getting layover pay (when needed) or something like that?

We don't have a guarantee anymore, that's what our daily rate plan was. @kylefitzy is (or was) on the 9900 mile salary plan, but I am not sure if they still have it, I just know they wouldn't let me move to it when they were ditching the daily rate program.

@kylefitzy has mentioned it on this thread a time or two...Since SPD did a lot of aerospace freight, recessions don't usually hit them very hard. What does hurt them is when one of their aerospace customers has a supplier or machinist union go on strike, a serious issue like planes mysteriously crashing or like this year, fuselage parts blowing out and the Feds have to investigate before they can resume normal production. Aeroplanes are a long term purchase so airlines tend to buy regardless of the current economy because their lifespan stretches across many up and down cycles in the economy.

On a more positive note, the gate is finally fixed in Wichita. They didn’t do anything to the driveway so it’s still a little tight. They went with a single piece cantilever gate that opens away from the side that kept getting run over.
