Got loaded just fine this morning. 2 17,000 lb counter weights and a 1000 lb pulley block. I used the onboard scale on the trailer for the rear counterweight, and discovered it is out of calibration by 1500 lbs (the wrong way). With my tandems closed, it said I was 33400...rolling between Ottawa and Oak Grove, it seemed a little more tail heavy than that so I stopped at the Love's just east of Oak Grove and it was 34940 on the trailer, so I get to spread 'em until I hit the FL line. I will tape a note to the scale screen so the next driver won't trust it until it gets calibrated.

Knucklehead, Bumper and Lonesome Thank this.

Yeah the problem with scales on drop trailers is that you never get to keep the trailer long enough to justify calibrating the scale so they frequently end up being off…

It’s super easy to calibrate if you would like to. It takes 20 seconds. I usually do it right on the cat scale after I get the weight on my phone.

This is how my evening went. This one actually added quite a bit of stress unlike most of the other things I post about. We were able to run the detour but it was tight. And on top of that I’m training another new driver this week. IMG_7216.jpeg IMG_7217.jpeg

I personally have sworn off the Big 3. I used to hate Ford with a passion after all the issues I had with them over the years, and swore by Jeep when it was a Chrysler product...then Tony bought Chrysler and then this other company bought them from Tony...plus I own a 2016 Ram 1/2 ton boat anchor. Biggest POS I have ever owned. My Son-in-law swears by Dodge/Ram...his 1st truck was a '09 1/2 ton. By 125k miles, front hub assembly replaced 3 times (both sides) because they use non-replaceable, press on bearings. He also went thru 2 transmissions, and when the rear diff went out for the 2nd time, he traded it for the current Dodge, which has a Cummins. It was a used truck, but by 150k, 2 transmissions in the 1st year and now it's parked after the 2nd set of OEM injectors went bad and filled his crankcase with diesel.

Both he and my daughter now drive a Nissan.

Nissan isn’t exactly renowned for quality these days either. The CVT transmissions they put in their cars are infamous for being horrendous and crapping out well before 100k. The Frontier and Titan pickups are actually very good though

Except for my most recent purchase, every vehicle i have owned has been some iteration or derivative of a Crown Victoria. I have a pair of Lincoln Town Cars now and they’re great vehicles. My older one is 30 years old with almost 220k and it doesn’t burn oil or have any major issues. Some of the best, if not the best, vehicles Ford has made. The few repairs i’ve had to do to them is only a few hundred dollars or so. I can’t say the same for their other products though

    Bumper Thanks this.

i need to get that back window regulator fixed. I’ve been putting it off for much longer than i’ll admit. It’s also getting new front shocks at the next oil change. The only major repair it’s had is the rear end was rebuilt around 180k, and it had a new A/C compressor installed a few summers ago. Other than that, nothing but routine maintenance IMG_4085.jpeg

I'm shocked!!!! Today they announced the Solo OTR driver of the year, and it wasn't me....:biggrin_2553:....I know, I know, many will be shocked by that...I was robbed!!!! I am throwing in the red flag for an instant replay review from the booth...I want a recount...(Did I miss any sports or political objections?). The part that shocked me, @kylefitzy wasn't it either...I thought with his connections, and his exemplary performance that he was a shoe-in.

Well obviously that whole election system is rigged. What pray tell is the award for such a prestigious honor?
