    yeah, my license and my record is so squeaky clean that when they run it it’ll clean their hard drive.:D I’ve got a plan after I get in about 18 - 20 months if an opening comes up. I’ll be getting in much needed experience and hopefully soon I’ll be with you guys in a little bit. I appreciate your support and encouragement. It means a lot to me!

    I started driving in 1996 in Billings, Mt for North American as a summer fleet driver and our trucks were just like that. Started with 2 days classroom on a Saturday and Sunday. Went to get our permits on Monday. Started the actual driving on Tuesday. 8 days later on the following Wednesday I took my CDL test and passed. Bused us to Ft Wayne where they sent us out on own own with only that training. Scary looking back now.

    @Cherokee65

    You got start somewhere, and Schneider is one of the better ones. Yes the pay sucks, but aside from LTL which company pays the best just starting out?

    With them once you have the taste of the open road, you can switch divisions and learn more as time goes on. Personally i would go to the tanker division there. Learn how to haul chemicals, that way you can really go on to a high paying job.

    Intermodal would be a good one too, you learn really quickly just much you tolerate and learn really quickly. If there is a Walmart account there still, give it a try. That way you can get reefer experience.

    As my friend Jesus would say:

    Bueno Suerta mi hermano!!

    Much respect and Thank you for the advice. You are 100% correct! I need to put in my time in order to make the real money. I sure did that in the construction welding field with 30+ years in. I topped out at $35/hr and a heart attack. Way too much stress. I hope the stress isn’t as bad trucking as it was in welding.
