What’s your average consumption? Should be in the 160 miles per gallon range on the low end.

Picked up in Romeoville after dropping my load of tires at Bridgestone and delivered that trailer to Sysco in Lincoln. Then I swung over to Kawasaki to grab a Moorestown, NJ load that i dropped in the yard here for someone else. Gonna go grab my stuff out of my truck, hit up Wally World here in Council Bluffs, and skedaddle home before this winter storm hits…hopefully

No issues unless the whole fleet of new Freightliners have them. I’m very lucky to get 2500 miles out of a full tank of DEF on both 2025 Freightliners i’ve driven.

That doesn’t mean much without knowing the size of the tank. If they really thought they’d be stranding people along the road I doubt they’d limit purchases.

Getting DEF at the yards saves me roughly a dollar per gallon versus pump price elsewhere, without knowing what their wholesale cost is I’d say savings for company trucks is well over a dollar per gallon. If 350 trucks spend an extra $10 per week on DEF out on the road that works out to roughly the cost of one brand new truck over the course of the year.

All that said, I’m glad I can decide where and how much I want to buy.

And it could be especially tricky when you're traveling up in the frozen tundra where it's gonna be sub-zero. Last year I played hell trying to find a DEF pump that wasn't frozen when I was on a round trip from the PNW to central OH and back. I could imagine how much of an issue it could be if you're playing a game of 5 gallon hopscotch.

I buy DEF in 5 gallon buckets from Tractor Supply in the winter and keep them at my house. When pumps are frozen up I just top off at the house and I can run all week. I’m not sure what my game plan would be as a company driver other than getting them to let me buy more DEF if I found a pump that worked.

You need to go up the chain of command, next in line is Tyson Keller, after him it’s Erik Andry. Out of curiosity who’s your current dispatcher?
