FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

I got passed on the onramp to I-80 WB at Grand Island one time by one of those dudes. And then got passed 5 more times by him between Lexington and Grand Junction. I stopped for the day at the T/A, and went into the Mexican Joint at the hotel next door. While I was munching on chips and Salsa, ole boy comes dragging in and walks in there yakkin LOUDLY on his headset about 4 wheelers this and steering wheel holders that, and governed trucks yackety smackety. He tried to call me a liar when I said all that weaving around cars and running 90+ didn't buy him any time, because I still beat him door to door by 20 minutes or so, just running 63-65mph. He couldn't explain how I knew he had passed an FCC truck on the ramp at Grand Island, or how I knew his brakes got HOT passing through Silverthorne. (He fell off the mountain at a fairly unreasonable free fall, passing me in a CLOUD of smoke)

 

Back when I was running for S&T I loaded calves out of California with one of their company trucks that had a husband/wife team in it. I stopped outside Flagstaff and took a 3 hour nap and when I got to Scott City KS they were still backed up to the chute unloading. People can waste a lot of time and then think they need to run 80mph.

78 Plymouth Fury with a 440 under the hood. AM radio, manual windows, but it does have cruise control apparently

Pretty rare I suppose nowadays to see those. The movie car for blues Brothers or a replica is at the food and fuel at Joliet il.

 

no this is a Plymouth Fury. It was used a lot as a police car in the Dukes of Hazzard. Blues Brothers car was a Dodge Monaco, specifically a 74. It also had a 440 in it i believe
