Has Heartland Express finally become profitable? Last I heard, which was a while back, they had posted a loss for something like seven or eight quarters in a row.Lonesome, JolliRoger, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this.

Apparently since they value cfi at $524 million .....no more cfi everything will be Heartland......plus they're changing the pay structure to match heartland......I bet lots of loyal drivers will bale vs working for heartland....wulfman75, Lonesome, JolliRoger and 1 other person Thank this.

Would it be an upgrade to go to Millis or Smith? My curiosity looms........
Lonesome, JolliRoger and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
Wow.
What a toilet flush.JolliRoger, smokey12 and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
It was stated that Heartland and Millis have been profitable, Smith just returned to profitability with losses attributed to CFI. Overall operating ratio for the group is 103% for third quarter compared to 105% for the first nine months. (For every $100 income, they spend $103)

Crazy business - I remember this back in 2008 - Operating ratios were way out of whack.
It's similar to the average family these days - Spend the paycheck and add 5% onto a credit card in the hopes you can pay it later.Trucker61016, Lonesome and JolliRoger Thank this. -
How can a company be profitable when it's running an OR above 99%?
edit: And they're doing a stock buyback when they really need to be cutting costs. smh...Last edited: Dec 12, 2025

I remember when I was running the Heartland Express Texas only Sams Club fleet. Great job. We moved back to Commiefornia and I went to work for Gordon. Four months later I was back in a Heartland Express truck and Gordon was no more.Trucker61016, Lonesome and navypoppop Thank this.

Wasn't CFI and Transport America merged together a while ago? What happened to T.A. Was T.A. part of W-TFI too?
Trucker61016 Thanks this.
