Yep.. driver screwed around and took over two days to do 830 miles from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon and wouldn’t drive in the rain because he doesn’t drive in the rain which caused me to never make it home for Christmas… It ain’t gonna happen in a second time I can guarantee that

I understand someone being weary of driving on snow covered roads but rain? That's ridiculous.

I'm really surprised they don't send you home on the company jet.

I'll personally be home today. My RTO was for Tuesday, but my dispatcher realized on Friday that I didn't have enough time on my 70 to make another run out to OH and back so he's having me deliver this load south of KCMO and just deadheading back to the yard to go home. I'd rather be home early rather than late, especially around a major holiday

Looks like they're doing this b.s. again

I got this message as I was pulling out of the W. Memphis driveway

And I got this one on my phone an hour later about 20 miles west of Jackson, TN (yes I was moving, no, I didn't reply. I hope they sent the cops out to the yard to do a welfare check because they were too stupid to ping my truck's location)

It's been quite a while since I have gotten the 12 hr welfare nanny message, and I know I have stopped for more than 12 hours on many occasions. Since our bereavement manager has been sending out bereavement messages a lot more the last month or so, I wonder if they're getting worried that some of us pissed off malcontents are gonna have our head explode in our sleep and cost them a truck because of the rotting corpse smell. I know it isn't because they give a crap about us trained monkeys like they claim.

I was waiting on a T-call load last month at the Tulsa loat and it turned into a 34 hour reset. What a joke.

While waiting for my truck repairs to be completed, there were a half dozen Shaffer drivers in the break room shooting the crap. We were all in agreement on a couple things. 1) we all feel that the changes to the fuel solution and the sudden changes to the new tap card system were most likely a decision that Jr. made, and 2) screw the reefer fuel portion of the new fuel solutions. Nobody in our group were following it.

Also, one driver who has recently spoke to our El Presidente says that sometime in January we are doing away with the paper trip sheet and going to a tablet form much like our detention form. I guess they must be keeping it a surprise, sorta like the changing of the slide card locks before issuing everyone a new card. I'll pray for ya'll that Tonn stays healthy for a long time, if Jr. takes over any time soon, this company will go down in flames faster than the Hindenburg...hopefully I will be gone one way or the other before that happens.
