It may an official copy of your MVR, sealed to prevent any potential tampering.

Just a guess, though.

 

Kind of like medical records and records your company keeps about you. It's all about you but yet it's none of your business.

 

Never heard of them just giving you a copy of your MVR !

Anyhow you can send for your own and i dont see where there is any big Security risk of someone having it !

OP didnt say if they said dont open it ?
Is it addressed to someone ?
If they hand it to you with no instruction i imagine it is up to the Op To decide what to do with it !

if it IS NOT addressed to anyone at the school then open the freaking thing...

at my school we have sealed envelopes that come from our office to the individual students. all that is in there is the DOT health card, and the mvr check and the financial agreement the students have. the only reason why ours is sealed is to keep prying eyes out of everyone else's business...

but that envelope is yours, so i say open it...OPEN IT NOW ######...!!!

 

Don't open it. If you do, they'll send you back to the MVD to get another one.
