I agree with ALL of the above comments from SS, TLH & JB24. The biggest problem would be/could be almost eliminated if the Fraking office pukes would just read the messages in there entirety before taking action, which in most cases what they take is inaction.

I just received a nasty-gram at home about my line 4 violations of company policy requirements. I lost 5 safety points in one day. Including a printout of my q/comm conversation w/the log-nag. And so it begins! Next step, contact the FMCSA/DOT for clearification, and if necessary, file a complaint against Crete for forcing log falsifacations. If necessary, I will bring down VP's or higher.
Plus I also discovered that the CEO of Sleep Pointe is associated w/Prime. All of his business associates are in some way senior management at New Prime, Inc. Something sounds odd when drivers for one company are being tested and exploited by associates of another. (by exploited I mean, we aren't given a choice of doctors, being bullied into taking sleep apnea tests w/o medical reccomendations from the doctor that preformed our dot physical, and who's overall percentage of failure is well above national average for the general population for being diagnosed w/obstructive sleep apnea...plus any 2nd opinion results aren't recognized by either Sleep Pointe or Crete as credible)1catfish Thanks this. -
This is going to be interesting, should you follow through with your statements, and I hope you do. The forced sleep test was one of the reasons I chose not to become a company driver when I terminated my status as an o/o.
FYI, Florida is a great place to live and drive for Poly. Multiple loads going there each day, so getting home won't be a problem. Also, paper logs, no sleep test, & no micro management by a desk jockey! The head driver supervisor is an ex-driver here, a well as the orientation guy. They are driver friendly here. This week I will have 3700 miles in 7.5 days could have been 7 but I got lazy, plus 4 extra stops. Almost $2k
gross for the week.
The drawbacks are the older trucks when your the new guy, and lots of paperwork.
I give this info in the event you should need another job. :-}
Godspeed with your actions against Crete's policies.supersnackbar Thanks this. -
Glad Poly is working out for you. I've always been told by my insider there that drivers from DFW can be home every weekend if they so choose. Watch out for Lee Hennessee (from Tennessee) I seem to run into him a few times a year. He's a talker alright but a good guy. I applied a few years ago but had a year old speeding ticket at the time. Still might look at them later.

Electronic logs are going to bite many company's policies in the rear end. These policies that were written by desk jockies, that have no idea how long it takes to do a job.
Gods speed to you. -
The only drawback is per diem pay system...still not sure I would adapt to it...just in case I would ever have any health issues or become unemployed and any compensation would be less due to a lower taxable income.
-
Is it true that Poly doesn't allow riders, no matter the relationship?
-
I meet Lee about a month ago. Does seem to be a good guy. He gave me his phone number & said call if I had questions. I have & he's been a great help.
-
They changed the way per diem is paid. Now it's figured at $59 per day you are away from home. I would rather there was no per diem pay as well, but it is what it is. I'll put up with it for not being micro managed & being treated as a person & not a dumb truck driver.
-
That is true.
