    Wow.

I've never heard of these things.
    Where did you?

Alcohol in the truck can also mean if the substance is in your body - so I was told in orientation at Swift.
So even if you go to a bar to drink, it will still be in the truck if it is still in you.

If your job as a trucker is all-important to you...
Don't drink the stuff except for the first couple days on home time.

Get a hote4 much cheaper and safer.. No worries but I see drivers all the time taking a six pack back to the truck.. I don't have an issue with this as long as they sober when they hit the road and well rested

I watched a guy take a 12 pack to the truck behind me one night. Him and his buddy were kickin back sittin on the trailer (flatbed) and emptied the 12. He left before I did the next morning. Tell me that he had no alcohol in his system.

Personally, I dont feel that the truckstops should even sell any kind of alcoholic beverages. That is just too big of a temptation for the alcoholic drivers.

Dont get me wrong, I enjoy a beer every now and again but I also have enough sense to think about my career and know which one I want more, the beer or the job!

Like everyone here says,it is illegal as hell to have alcohol in the trk.Don't even try and sneak it onboard just till you get to the hotel you're staying at for the night.Somebody may see you and call the law or your company.

I had started a thought but didn't finish it up there. What I was trying to convey is desperate drivers should not think that because it is illegal to have alcohol on their breath and/or in classic beverage containers that it is OK to stuff an alcohol soaked rag all the way up their tailpipes or give themselves turkey baster alcohol catheter injections in any effort to skirt breathalyzer tests or containers on board.

Question 3: Does the prohibition against carrying alcoholic beverages in §392.5 apply to a driver who uses a company vehicle, for personal reasons, while off-duty?

    Guidance:
No. For example, an owner-operator using his/her own vehicle in an off-duty status, or a driver using a company truck or tractor for transportation to a motel, restaurant, or home, would normally be outside the scope of this section.

I have sat outside with other drivers on a hot night sharing a brewski on a weekend layover.to say the truckstops shouldnt sell beer means again the authorities are taking control of decisions I should be making.Just remeber there was a time when you could choose to buckle your seatbelt, and now the government demands you do it.
