hehe I agree! I listen to the Love channel on Sirius XM because they have no annoying DJ's interrupting the music every other song to tell me what day of the week, what time it is, what their name is and what their favorite activity is, what the name of the artist and song is (as if I cannot read that on the little radio myself, or look at my 14 digital time displays throughout the truck or my little calendar). Anyway, 1st of November through 4th of January, they play 24 hours a day Christmas and holiday tunes yuck. So I had to switch over to some other station.

I don't know what it is with the management team over at satellite radio, are they afraid listeners will stop paying them $14 bucks a month if they don't provide DJ's to tell them carap they already know?

OOPs carry on, enjoy reading about y'alls exploits. My brother in law is a Creten going on his 3rd year coming up.

Well, I'm home....got empty in Beech Island, SC last night and got the word to go ahead and head home. So here I am. Don't know if I'm going to stay until Saturday or Sunday. Wife's uncle's funeral is Saturday and she wants me to go to support her, so I'll be there. Come back out Sunday. Finished this very abbreviated week with about 1900 miles.

Have a good Thanksgiving, everyone, and be safe.

I dumped my XM radio just for that reason. I really dont need to know that the 3rd cousin of the sister whose brother was the drummer for the fourth reincarnation of the Animals is playing at the No Tell Motel lounge in Billings Montana this weekend......

I have switched to Pandora. Music sweet music......

Ditto on Sorryace/XM and Pandora, although I've had to switch to Slacker lately, for some reason these Thunderbolts and Pandora were skipping and hesitating bad, no matter how i set the settings. The last couple days...this recent refirb'd T'bolt has had issues finding and staying connected to any data network. HTC SUCKS SEWER SLUDGE THROUGH A DEFECTIVE BENDY STRAW

Well, the polite, sweet, pacifistic Snackbar has been committed to solitary confinement. I pulled a load out of the Maybrook, NY area to Findley, OH. A load from H E (double toothpick). Not that the load itself was heavy, or the customers at either end were more arrogant or irritating than the usual NY 'chip on the shoulder' that is the norm for that area...it was the miles. 666 miles. If I were Catholic, I would have to say 10 hail Mary's and do some serious penance, or at least a couple more days in Purgatory. The load was light, the miles were timed a little off, but I've had worse. After unloading, the only thing they could come up with was a load out of Nepoleon OH going to Indy...pick up Wednesday night, deliver Friday at 1930...and I had to deal with the king of a'holes over it...that's right Cory was working. After politely asking for something even a little more productive...I got nothing. So I said no to the load and gave the 'not productive enough for 2.5 days' as a reason. Only to have Cory chime in with 'are you sure? Nothing better available today or tomorrow'. Then I asked if there was a possiblity of t'calling in Indy, and pull something-even another short one- out of there since we have local drivers that do the local t'calls. Only to have him cancel the preplan and tell me I'll have to wait. It wasn't until I got a bit testy with him about why he didn't answer my question that he finally said that it wasn't possible. I then told him, that if he'd would have just said t'call not possible in the 1st place, it would've saved a lot of time and aggravation...and that exact reason is why the majority of the Crete driver hate to deal with him simply because he complicates even the simplist of things. I almost got nasty and urged him to move on, or into another department...as in Cory, you can go to *bleep* for all we care, we wouldn't miss you...but the censor function between my brain and my fingers kicked in and I held my tounge...gota make it to next Monday before I get 2 weeks vacation. Ohmmmmmmmm.....ohmmmmmmm....ohmmmmmm

It was the fifth reincarnation. If you would have KEPT XM, you'd KNOW this! Please get with the program! :biggrin_25523:

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I gave the geniuses in Lincoln a few extra days to get me home and they still couldn't manage to do it. I told them Saturday was o.k. and the best they could do was Sunday. So they deadheaded me from Idaho Falls to Salt Lake to get a load going to Albany, Or. From there I was to p/u in St, Helens to Montebello, Ca. and del on Tuesday. They said I could re-route down U.S. 395 to go by the house...again a day late. I get to SLC just to find out the load isn't supposed to p/u until Saturday. The ld assn. said del Friday, go figure. So here I sit at the NSL term until Friday to go to Green River, Wy. to Victorville, Ca. I guess it's Flying J pizza for Thanksgiving!!!

2 wks ago, I had 1685 miles in 4 days(hometime/election day). Last week just under 2900, this week I'm sitting at 2100ish, but nothing available today or tomorrow. They won't get us home for even Thanksgiving day, but we have no freight to make it worth being out here.

I bet the suits will be chowing down on all sorts of turkey and stuffing and pie...not us 3rd class citizens. And I put in for home time for next Thursday, so next week will suck as well, but if I don't put in for hometime by then, I won't have enough time to meet Crete's 21 day requirement before Christmas. Like it'll matter whether or not I'm there on Christmas day...it's not like we can afford to pay the bills let alone buy presents.
