Im not so sure. But it very well might be a good start. I went to albany tech in albany ga. And i had a very good experience. Since then i generally perfer new drivers to start in tech schools. More time and better equipment.

I attended Georgia Piedmont Technical College this past fall and the Georgia Hope Grant covered about $550 of the program IIRC. With the Federal Pell Grant I qualified for my total out of pocket cost for the class and all fees (fuel, random drug screen, activity fees) was $136 out of $1899. I did have to pay for my CDL Learners Permit and DOT Physical. Your school probably has a prefered provider for the physical. I did mine at a local Concentra but my school had a local clinic that was doing them for students about half the cost!

cool I didn't think I would have to pay for the random drug test tho I already took the dot physical and drug screen that I had to pay for and I know I will have to pay for the cdl learners permit but what about the actual cdl test ? I got the hope grant to pay for 550 of it another 1000 dollar grant from Athens tech and I have a 500 grant they gave me for getting my ged

That sounds good yeah you should be good to go! The School gave us a random drug test on week 6 had to go to the local Concentra. That test was included in the program cost no out of pocket for that. The GA State CDL test was paid for in the tuition also it was no extra cost. They actually brought the testers to my school to do the testing so we didn't have to travel for it. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck driver!

I already have enough grant money to pay for it all but I was told I would still have to pay for some things out of pocket
