Had a car pass me like I was up on jacks going into the construction on I 57 South just north of Marion, just as it turned to 55MPH, right by the radar warning sign that shows you your speed. He was going so fast all it showed him was a warning triangle?
I always thought IL used the white van with a camera for doing construction zone photo enforcement, but I could have sworn I saw a flash come off the side or back of that radar sign. This was in sunny broad daylight bt the way. Maybe it was just the sun hitting it through the trees?
Not worried about me, I wasnt speeding and am just curious. He never got pulled over, and seemed oblivious to the whole thing.

Aren't those cameras just used as a basis to send a ticket to the registered owner of the vehicle?
-
Yea its to bad for that ##### theres no camera..
loose_leafs Thanks this. -
in IL, supposedly in order to do that the camera picture has to match the pic of the vehicle owners drivers license on file. They actually have to sit and compare pictures to send out a ticket. No match, no ticket. I just looked up a vid on youtube about it.

Now that I think about it there was probably no camera there. No construction workers in sight, and no squad cars around anywhere.

It would be my luck the wreckluss driver would trip the thing and it would take my pic , just saying, I am sure it happens , I see these automated speed radars all the time where I am doing say 54 and as I approach they flash up like 65/75 ect where some dumb ### is flying up behind or beside me , ain't had a ticket yet but I have worried about that sorta thing ,

I have always wondered the exact same thing. And that is what happened, I was doing 55 and he was doing bt my guess close to 70 and on the phone. If there was a camera how would they even tell?
-
What makes you so sure? LOL

I still haven't seen a speed enforce van or anything in construction zone. I-90 construction is 45mph for like 50 miles and 4wheelers and some truck do 65-70. But I do see troopers trying to enforce it

Where would they even have room to pull someone over? That place is a mess, and I will avoid it whenever possible, as long as it takes for them to get finished.
