To play in safe AT&T or Verizon. If data speed is important to you go AT&T.

Verizon has the best coverage, but it is kind of spendy. However I get service pretty much everywhere except for certain desolate spots in WV, WY, NE etc

As far as speed...I use Verizon and stream Netflix or Youtube without buffering issues most places that have truckstops. Not sure how much faster anyone needs unless online gaming takes faster speeds than movie streaming.

Not really planning on spending any time gaming, possibly netflix if I am stuck somewhere for a bit, mainly voice, some texting, and data.

I used an old Samsung S3 (rooted) and was able to stream at almost every truck stop I parked at (when I had time to watch tv).

Streaming uses a good chunk of data. On slow freight months 100+ gig wasn't unusual for me, even got close to 200 gig once. In fact, my new billing cycle started 7/20, and by the time I got home on 8/4 I have used 75ish gig.

Sprint is horrible in the west. East of I-35 perhaps but not much west of I-35.

For city folk I'd say AT&T but then we tend to exist in the space between cities so Verizon has the best coverage. Just don plan on talking to anyone in the black hole between Amarillo and Fagstaff.
