I stopped reading at the words lease purchase...

Just because you can doesn't mean you should...

Lease-purchase = glorified shell game where few win and the rest lose. It's nothing but a complete rip off.

Don't forget about it also being the ideal means for the company to pawn off the operating costs of the truck onto some poor sap while making continuing to earn all the revenue from it.

    No thank you.

I used to resent and loathe those company ceos and owners for taking advantage of good people like that all for the sake of the mighty dollar, but at what point do we have to start taking responsibility for our own lack of financial common sense.

There's no shortcuts, folks. If you want the rewards of being truly independent, buy your own truck and get your own authority.

Don't have the credit/capital? Stay company until you can patch your credit and build your reserves.

Lease-purchase is little more than a company driver making truck payments.

One little bit you are leaving out

Even if you are only making $50000 that year under lease purchase, you will owe ZERO taxes because of the business write off of the truck expenses

As a company driver you pay taxes and you don't get to write off the truck expenses from your taxes

Not true. Some truck expenses are able to be written off as a company driver. Items such as tags and other items related to the actual truck are company expenses.

The only expenses that matter cannot be expensed by the driver.

Lease purchase only works if you take every load and do not go home
