Fess up...did you ask ur Doctor...what was stated?
-
I try to use my machine every nite, have been doing so since I started CPAP since late February. I've missed only 2 nights of use , once because I was on a bus overnight for my company's orientation, and one other because of a scheduling snafu on a load. Still managed to get a letter of compliance from my ENT specialist, and my doctor, who is DOT certified and did my physical, gave me the maximum 1 year card, and she is quite strict about that stuff. Use that thing EVERY night for the minimum 4 hours, and that can help you keep compliance.

Is it possible to wear it while awake say driving or watching TV i nthe truck to get the percentages up?
-
It's supposed to be used while sleeping, which would be on your 10 hour break.
-
yes I know, but let's say a person strapped it on their face then lay down in thebed, I don't know anyone who falls asleep in 5 minutes, there is a period of time wherethe user is awake. Why not wear it while relaxing awake after driving all day to get the hours needed?
-
Actually to be honest, slap that on and I am out in 5 min! No idea what it is about it but it knocks me out quick as heck!scottied67 Thanks this.

No, I did not ask, as the doc is not clearing me because she has a question on one of my bipap readings. I have passed the Wakefullness test and am 97% on compliance, so in my mind I have passed the dot requirements....but she has not reported that out for me yet. I do not want to confuse her about questions on co2.
I am rather unhappy with her at this time! -
My xwife was diagnosed with sleep apnea several years ago and mandantorially required to use a cpap machine each night. I clearly remember her putting on her mask and crying herself to sleep each night to stay eligible to drive the next day. She no longer drives a truck anymore. It's sad that someone passed a law that requires someone to wear a vacuum cleaner on their face each night. It has to have a negative psychological effect on anyone forced to do this in order to work.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
I had a sleep test last night, and I asked the sleep tech about frolovs, and he just laughed. I would need to see some scientific evidence that it actually works, before I tried it. Anecdotal evidence is not sufficient to convince me. Thanks for the info.
