    Saw a pick-up with tall side boards hauling an assortment of melons yesterday on 81 in PA. The watermelon bin was stacked. There were a handful (of melons, yes! The best kind - a handful!) where a good bump would encourage them to escape... Now, while I always encourage melons to escape captivity, I also thought of you Dave, and proper melon securement.

    I'm beginning to wonder if there's any irony in that my favorite fruits are cherries and watermelon (honestly!)

    Also, because I couldn't tell - did the guy forget to drop the landing gear and peel out from under the trailer in 5th, or did they just give?

    No, the driver dropped the trailer to swap with another driver. What happened was a third driver showed up and tried to back into the spot next to the dropped trailer and pushed it over so hard the landing gear collapsed. Then this third driver got out for about 60 seconds looking around and got back into his truck and drove off across the freeway to the Petro in Laramie WY.
