pre trip inspection test

When you are doing the pretrip for the test for all hoses and rubber parts you just say...no abraisions, buldges or cuts properly mounted and secure at both ends and not leaking? And with the mechanical parts...not cracked bent or broken and properly secured?

I watch youtube videos of guys doing pretrip and saying for example power steering pump resovoir hose "not cracked bent or broken and no abrasions buldges or cuts. Is that right to say not cracked bent or broken too?

 

Ok but i would think "crack" in terms of mechanical is like a crack in the steel. For rubber or hoses it's an abrasion or cut. So if you have a crack in a hose is the same thing as a cut or abrasion.

 

Saying too much is what i am asking in this thread. When i hear someone talk about a hose and they say "not cracked, bent or broken" it doesn't makes sense. I never heard of a bent hose lol and i really never hear someone say a broken hose. So if i was talking about a hose i would say...no abrasions, bulges or cuts, not leaking and properly secured at both ends. Adding not cracked, bent or broken doesn't make sense but if i have to say that i will obviously.

 

So they are mainly looking to see if you know the part you are talking about not necessarily the exact words you use explaining the problems to look for?
