The only thing the APU really does with the Espar or Wabasco heaters is that it is wired into the HMI controls in your bunk. It goes through the wiring harness for the APU. Basically select heat and then the desired temp.
I would leave it like that. People usually have issues with their diesel fired heaters when it gets cold out because they never ran them at all for months when the weather is nice. They should be fired up at least once per month and ran for a few minutes. Youndont want old diesel sitting in the heater for months. Also the screen needs cleaning sometimes.
Anyway they are really reliable and will keep the truck toasty.
PS. Cover the exaust with a piece of duct tape when you go to a truck wash. The truck wash peons will hit that exhaust port with the high pressure spray gun and screw up your heater big time. Don't forget to take the tape off when your done having the truck washed!!!!!!!!!!shortcut Thanks this. -

I always see loads going that way. The problem is getting out of the Houston area. It's either feast or famine. Hopefully if the oil industry picks up and the economy Houston will be really busy.

Anyone have lawyers number in Louisville. I have some oil in the coolant tank. On my isx 870 Cummins. I'm assuming it's the oil cooler.

Wait @drvrtech77 are you talking van side? If so I have no clue.
Also I say getting out isn't hard if you live there just due to the fact when it's time to leave the house (say 4-7 days) you are usually #1 on the flat side.spyder7723 Thanks this.
