Marten Transport sucks

No, you blame Marten. They're the ones that are putting the trailers on rail cars. They're taking cheap freight and then using cheap labor to get the job done. Nothing wrong with being a smart business. The wrong here is hiring drivers and then not utilizing them to the point they can't make a living. The other wrong here is the driver putting up with it.

Pack your crap and head to greener pastures.

 

You could switch the paperwork around somehow to have wrong trailers delivered to wrong places by the railroad ..........

 

OTR guys don't really deal with rail yard much. If we do we get additional 100 for rail move. Ive only had 2 in 5 weeks. The majority of trips are short tho. Lots of LIVE loading and unloading.
Of course, it's just an average reefer company. Nothing too special about them. But in some drivers eyes, majority of companies suck. Maybe it's not the companies after all.......

 

I saw this happnening 6 years ago, i did leave, as well as many others, for various reasons.

 

That's because all your empties are sitting in rail yards or on trains. Nothing left for drop & hook.

 

I'm here now and for what it is, I've been happy. I get whatever runs I want and they usually offer me 3 at a time to choose. I heard we lost that run from Memphis to AZ and that pissed me off.

 

Hey. I'm looking for some info on Marten dedicated out of NJ. The run is right out of my home town. I would be giving up a top pay OTR gig for more home time. Any thing you have on there types of runs and or the company itself would be really appreciated. Thanks
