I would think that method would trend your numbers lower anyways. Because if you say put in 100 gallons, then drive 500 miles, put in another 100 gallons, its going to show that your MPG is 5 MPG, when it could be realistically 7 or 8. Of course eventually it should average itself out because you could then drive another 500 miles, put in 50 gallons and it will think you did 10MPG. There's never the "Fillup" reconciliation like with Let's Truck. Its more for IFTA tracking for taxes. Also the Rand Tablet actually loads Let's Truck fuel tracking on it now.
Though your numbers sound CLOSE, I mean...I do 64 and get 7.8. Every 1mph over 55 is usually -.1 MPG as a rule of thumb, so...that would hit 7.2 for you at 70, then fuel variations, temp, load, terrain, and fuel blend.
Of course I make it a point to search for low bio-diesel blended fuel, which helps boost my numbers and tend to stay out of PFJ unless they are using a B10 blend (Vega Tx comes to mind.). -
Question, how do you come up with every mph over 55 is -.1 mpg?

Came from a Cummins Fuel Economy paper.

Its on Page 4. I know we run Detroits but I'm sure the number is going to be pretty close...Rugerfan Thanks this. -
Anybody ever deliver to the sysco in selma nc? Just curious how long anybody might have waited here for a door. They have a weird wait in the yard system i don't trust.
-
I've been there one time last October. According to my notes, I was out the gate 2 hours after my appt time. Nothing stands out other than that info.kanidana Thanks this.

Thx, 3 hours so far but I got a door 1 hour after my appt time. That's a good idea, keeping notes on shippers/rcvrs. I've thought about doing that but too lazy.

I've got some shipper notes for you all. Picking up yams in farmville, nc sucks. How do they unload? Do they put your trlr and truck on one of those tilting ramps@Gerber? I can't imagine anybody trying to unload this jumbled mess by hand. I also see this as a potential load shift nightmare. I'll never come back if i make it to the cons without a massive overweight ticket. I would think just forward momentum would shift that mess.
The other fun part is the fact that they try and max your trlr weight. The entire thing seems a set up for disaster. -
The Schwan's in Salina, KS turned out to be a drop and hook after all. My DM called me this morning asking for my ETA to the consignee. I told her that I was still waiting for an appt time, but I could be there at either 1400 or midnight. That's when she informed me it might be a drop and hook; just depended weather or not they had empties there. An hour later, she calls me back and says go ahead and drop today. Got there at 1330 and grabbed the only empty on site.
Kamkor Thanks this. -
Unless they fixed the trailer lift at Gerber they will unload you with the bobcat. I actually think its quicker that way.kanidana Thanks this.
