I see we all have been busy. After I delivered in Fairburn, I picked up an NC to ND load. Doing a quick 34 at the house and then leaving after church (black church is hopefully by 1300).
Finally got that headlight issue fixed, (surprisingly quick fix). Then get home and had to replace the headlight in my car. I brought two because idk it was so labor intensive on a trailblazer to put in a light. You gotta pop the grill off then pop clips and unplug wires.....whew!!!!
After delivery in ND, planned on a UT run.

So I am no longer a driver for Magnum, I got a local job where I can be home every night. But I want to thank everyone here with the help y'all have given me and I figured I would write a review of my time with the company.
Now my review is based off my experience and we all know they vary.
I started in April of 2016 fresh out of CDL school and I was with my trainer for 4 weeks and I got some good training and learned a lot from him. I had some bad luck with the first truck I got but that was sorted out and I ended up keeping the loaner truck I used while my first one was in the shop and I never had any problems with it.
Home time
For the first five or six months I was getting home to GA from Fargo which meant that I took Cavendish down to Newnan. And I have to say Nick didn't really do a good job with that. I always got home the day after I put in for it no matter what I did really and on some of them he would have me wait for another driver to swap the loads and I usually got screwed when that happened. But after that I was always getting loads out of MN and Ashley always got me home on time or early but shes not here anymore but kudos to her. Coming off home time was also kind of an issue though, it was 50/50 if I was going to have a load going out on the day I was ready to go back out.
Maintenance
The truck I ended up with was great and I didn't have any issues with it except for the APU. And I could never seem to get to Fargo for repairs on it so I ended up in CR which we all know they aren't very good. I went to CR 3 different times to get the AC fixed on the APU and they could never fix it, took it up to Fargo and the first time there they fixed it and it was still going strong when I left. But there does seem to be some confusion on PM things/what they have done to a truck before.
Dispatch
Dispatch are a good bunch of guys and gals and when I first started they stressed the importance of communication. I feel that was one way and I found that I had to stay on certain people and check in on things just so I could know what was going on. And yes I know they are busy people but I felt like I was forgotten all to often. So my miles were never really that great here and I mean I struggled to get 10k a month and I usually only got to 10k with layover days. It didn't matter if I took less home time or emailed dispatch ahead of time to get something setup and it didn't matter if I did 9 trips or 14 trips in a month it was a struggle. I never told them I wouldn't go somewhere and I never refused a load but I have talked with other drivers not on here and they have the same issue.
I might add more to this if I think of something important enough. But I will say this, I am glad I started with Magnum and if I were to ever come back to OTR there the first company I would call.Last edited: May 13, 2017

Good luck it's always nice if you find a job that gets you more family time :^D -
Came out of Simplot in Grand Forks, decide to run US-2 across to WA for a change. You can make it to Havre, MT on a fresh clock and park at the state scales or the Walmart. Like driving across Mongolia the first day.
The fun starts the next day when you head down to Great Falls. Then a good ride down MT-200 and over Rogers Pass (elevation 5610). Grizzly country. Even a ghost town back there. Beautiful. Dumps you out right at the Town Pump before Missoula.
Wouldn't do it in winter though. The grade is no big deal, but it's all single lane road. Actually, it's all single lane from the ND state line. Don't drink a lot of coffee.mattbh23, tallinthesaddle4life, Dna Mach and 5 others Thank this. -
Fargo tonight.
Then continue my journey to Auburn WA. Hours are going to be real tight Dont Have but 19.5 hours on my 70. Don't pick up any till midnight Monday night and only get 5 1/2 then delivers Tuesday afternoon.Last edited: May 13, 2017
