Why would you pay state income tax on loads that do not belong to you, but you transport?
BUMBACLADWAR Thanks this. -
Im leased onto carrier but I have my business license in state of WA. State income tax personell told me I have to file my income tax quarterly with state, paying tax on inbound loads
-
It's not your freight, so why pay income tax on something you don't own?
I would really get clarification on this from them.BUMBACLADWAR Thanks this. -
You pay state income taxes on your wages, Just like you would your federal taxes. Income only
-
Sounds strange, are these retail items you're transporting to a retail store.Won't they collect sales tax when they sell said items. As far as I know Washington State has no State Tax taken out of my paycheck ever.

Thats how i was explained, to pay taxed on inbound loads

WA does not have a state income tax.
scottied67 and BUMBACLADWAR Thank this. -
They do have department of revenue and I had to register my business license with them in order to get my license

Verify that this office is legit. Sounds like a scam office trying to get free money off you. Washington state does not tax its citizens. The richest man in the world lives in Seattle.
