Just got to look for those small trucking companies... 20 or so trucks

Hang around the truck stop, ask on here, maybe you'll find a lead with enough patience and effort.

Don't disclose anything you don't have to. If anything you are a hero for not ripping the trailer roof off and spewing goods over two lanes of US highway, only to require a tow from under said bridge. You made a mistake. Could and would have been alot worse if not for your experience. Explain it that way if asked.
Everything else is just BS and minutia that doesn't matter.

By the way, was the bridge posted?

If you are considering getting your own authority I would recommend you talk to OOIDA.
First thing you need to talk to their insurance department and find out if your accident will cause them to deny coverage to you .
Something else. Also check with Progressive. They insure new owner/operators when some other insurance companies won’t.
Good luck to you. I started out by getting my own authority right out of driving school sixteen years ago.
I wouldn’t have it any other way myself but I had been self employed in farming /sawmill/logging for most of the previous 30 years.
    To each his own.

Unless it was a repair job I couldn't afford, I wouldn't file a claim for hitting a bridge. Just limp it along with a rain coming in til you can get to that $10 per mile freight coming in April 2nd when full ELD enforcement comes into full effect with 1 million trucks shut down OOS. Then you can get if fixed with your pockets full of cash.

Read this one twice, but missed the question -

"Was the company van you were pulling damaged" ?

Apologies if this was already covered.

    Wait a second here-....................

You Bumped your head on a bridge-damaged YOUR truck a touch, And This Landstar terminates your lease?

What Kind of Childish Stuff is that?

    Is that not your truck?

Your Truck/Your Business- No one elses.

You Better Off Without them then, Treating you Like a Child And Punishing you like one.

Get OUTTA there...Go Be a True Owner operator, If you have 8 Years of service- Don't play around with Idiots telling you how to Run things. And stressing you out with potential lease terminations.

I Outta Go Steal a few more of their Customers Just for Finding out about this noise

I believe the damage was limited to his tractor...... which would indicate a very low bridge if he hit the cab.
