Great thanks! That's what this driver was asking me about. I thought it was hilarious that recruiting said you'll find out how it works in orientation. lol

$61 to renew my license.. But it was super easy and good for 5 more years. Took all kinds of documents and only needed my medical card since there were no changes.

Truck Driving championships should have more realistic events, like "Complete a Pickup/delivery at a Lineage Facility without catching a case." and "Cross California Fastest Without getting a Ticket"

Don't forget "The Best Trucker All You Can Buffet Plate" and "The Best B.S Trucker Story" and "The Who Can Park the Closest to the Truck Stop Without Getting Told to Move" events.

Hey I was the driver wondering about how to pay the co driver. What % do most teams there pay their co drivers? Also are they considered an employee of jct or the person leasing the truck? What happens if they don't pay their taxes correctly will it affect me?

Most teams settle on a CPM rate. They are your employee and you should be withholding taxes from their settlements. Technically they are not a 1099 employee as you are 1st seat and JCT has contracted you. You have hired the second seat driver.

That' how I see it anyways.

Most of the teams I met are husband wife or couples in general. So most of the time it just went all in to the same account. However If you have a second seat they are your employee and as the IRS says you would need to withhold taxes Fica medicare SS etc. So messy in my opinion.
