Even if it was drop & hook, you can lose a half day at least in LA traffic. There is no way possible to do it regularly, especially in winter.Farmerbob1, x1Heavy and mhyn Thank this.

Yes you can do it but if you have to ask about don do it

1000 miles each way. That's 2000 miles round trips. Divide that by $1000.

Can't make 2 trips in one week on ELD and speed limits legally.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Agreed.
Everyone is talking about how they can do two trips it seems. Or how much time here to there.
Usually when I decide that a trip cannot be done legally I move on to something else. Hanging around here is a waste to me.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Later in the thread, you say the loads are drop and hook.
So, yes, two x 1000 mile trips a week are doable, easily, almost no matter what the traffic looks like.
Over the late fall, winter, and spring, you might see significant delays if you route through Vail on I-70.
But two trips a week, you might be able to route South on I25, then West on I40, and still have plenty of time.
If you mean ROUND trips, then you are talking 4000 miles a week over Vail, and through Cali 55 speed zones. No truck is doing that reliably in winter.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I havent read the other replies yet,. so excuse me if I am repeating anything,..
But first of all your looking at over 1000 mi through some steep grades. This is a joke right? A trip like that needs to pay $3500 one way at the bare minimum.
2 trips a week,.. for $1000 each,.. your ok with grossing only $2000 per week? Do you even understand how much fuel you are going to burn?
This is why Colorado is a dead end no go area for me.
Sorry,.. I wouldnt touch that with a ten foot pole.

It sounds like you'll be taking a load to LA then dead heading back to Denver for the second load, plus the time involved loading and unloading. So figure 1100 miles each way, that's 4400 miles a week for $2,000 or .45 cents per mile. Not very good pay for pushing it that hard, and I have no doubt you would be looking at a 6 day week instead of 5 days. LA has a way of messing up schedules. Denver does too for that matter. This guy probably got a sweet deal on these loads for some big bucks, and he's trying to find somebody that will get them delivered cheap. Don't be a sucker. It's a losing deal for you, and doing that many miles every week for very long will burn you out really fast.
