So, first off, let me start by saying I did that once. It was on my first day at work. I missed my turn off and I found a breakdown shoulder to pull over. Somewhere in my greenhorn thought process did i conclude that making a u-turn on a highway in the middle of the night would be a great idea. I was most definitely wrong. I actually had my truck almost spun around when I saw my short box being pinched by the back end of my front trailer. The driver side wheels on my back trailer also lifted off tht ground by about 2 feet. This was another visual clue to tell me I am doing something wrong.
I bit the bullet and backed everything up. I took the scenic detour through Yellowstone National Park. I ended up being two hours late and with a 12 inch crack on my back box pannel. They almost fired me over it. This was another valueable lesson for being a brand new civilian, had I not said something, I would have definitely gotten away with it. I was just trying to be honest and make a mention of my mistake. I didn't even think anything of the damage since the rest of the trailer looked like it had been used in a Mad Max movie.
Fast forward five years. We had another "Poptard" employee who did the same thing. We call them Poptards cause they show up and quit before their nametags even get embroidered on their uniforms. This guy turned so sharp that the freaking pintel on his trailer broke off!!! He drug both the con and the back trailer along for a few hundred yards since the safety chains were still attached . He made a quick call saying his back trailer isn't properly trailing before he disconnected the safety chains.
There it was, a Reddaway trailer sitting on the road with it's con still under it and a sad looking pintel hook hanging off the front like a 15 lbs earing . I can't make this up.
This happened last year or so when we really could not hang on to a driver. He never got in trouble though. They didn't want to upset him and make him quit (which he did by months end anyway).

Hey if any of you guys are on line haul tonight pulling doubles or triples and you want a change. Pull over into the nearest Truck Stop Dairy Queen and get the New York Cheese Cake Blizzard, I just had part of one sooooo goood!!! I think the big New York Cheese Cake Blizzard has like 2500 calories but if you get the biggest size they have it'll make the night a lot more fun.

I used to eat Oreo blizzards all the time mostly out of nostalgia, but once I saw the calories for the snack sized being like 800...
I was likebecause who the f*** orders the snack-kid size blizzard.

AHA!!! I found it after digging through my Facebook feed! The Meat Mountain in all it's glory. They squished the hell out of it so it would fit in their clamshell box! For $10 a sandwich, it's a cardiologists nightmare. Wife's iPhone is next to it for height reference. I've since ascended the mountain five more times. Each time with my wife shaking her head and rolling her eyes.Last edited: Oct 25, 2018
